Worth the Wait

I’ve built my path one step at a time,

Chasing goals that once felt out of reach.

Every win, every mistake,

Is mine, and I own it.

I don’t need to stress the future,

The proof is in what I’ve done.

I move forward, steady, unapologetic,

Living a life that I can be proud of.

Worth the Wait

Sometimes it feels like everything takes longer for me. Things other people figure out fast can take me years to really get right. But I’ve learned that time doesn’t mean failure. It just means growth at my own pace. Every small step, every time I tried again after messing up, built into something bigger than I could see back then.

It took me a long time to get here. Not just to the haircut, but to being able to handle everything that comes with it. The sounds, the bright lights, the feeling of the scissors and clippers, all of it used to be too much. Just sitting in that salon chair felt impossible. But I kept trying. A little at a time, I worked on it until I finally could.

Getting my mohawk might not seem like a big deal to other people, but to me, it means everything. It’s something I’ve wanted for years, and now that I have it, it feels like a victory. Every time I look in the mirror, I see more than just a new haircut. I see progress. I see strength. I see me.

It’s strange how slow progress feels when you’re in it, but how big it looks when you finally stop and look back. There were so many times I wanted to give up because I thought I wasn’t moving fast enough. But now, after all this time, I can see the results of the work I’ve put in and it feels good. Not loud, bragging good, just quiet, steady good.

All the work, the patience, the waiting, and the time it took were worth it. It’s not just a haircut. It’s proof that I can do hard things, even when it takes years to get there.

Beautifully written! Your story is yours to write, on your own terms and how you experience the world. Let your work be a reminder that the human experience is individual and there’s no right way to do it, as long as you’re doing it in a way that makes you feel fulfilled. Cheers, Arjun! Never stop writing!
