I Have a Human: A Shadow's Perspective

I have a little human who drags me everywhere,
And what can be the point of him, I sometimes find unfair.
He is very, very like me from his head down to his feet;
And I see him follow closely, no matter where we meet.
The strangest thing about him is how he never stays still-
Always rushing here and there, as though against his will;
Sometimes he moves so quickly, like a bird that cannot rest,
And sometimes lingers aimlessly, never knowing what is best.
He hasn’t got a notion of how shadows ought to play,
He keeps me dancing after him at night and through the day.
He pulls so far ahead of me, too busy to take heed,
I’d wish he’d slow a moment, but he never seems to need.
One evening, very late, when the moon was shining bright,
I found myself far stretched, while he stayed out of sight;
But I, his shadow, was still there, a faithful friend,
Always remain, waiting, until he finds me again.

Beautiful narration. Keep it up dear.
